Permanent hair removal

The results of traditional hair removal methods (creams, wax, etc.) are usually limited in time. Allergic reactions, red patches and small cysts, due to the abnormal regrowth of tiny hairs, often occur.

With a permanent hair removal laser, dark red light is absorbed by the hair pigment, melanin. The energy of the laser beam is converted into heat that destroys the root of the hair. By destroying the roots and structures of the hair cells, hair follicles in the treated area can not regrow. Your skin doesn't have the same pigment concentration as hair, therefore it will not be affected by the laser.

Laser hair removal is especially suitable for dark hair on light skin. It does not apply to blond or fine hair.

It is not possible to destroy all hair follicles in one session. Hair passes through different phases. Laser hair removal only destroys the hairs in their active phase. It is therefore necessary to have multiple sessions, the number of sessions and the duration of each being determined by the area to be treated. Most of the time, six to eight treatments are required, depending on the tenacity of the hairs. A rest period of 4 to 15 weeks, depending on the area, is foreseen between each treatment.

Tips:
Before you make an appointment, please make sure:

• You don't go in the sun 4 - 6 weeks before AND after the treatment (to avoid pigmentation disorders)
• You don't wear self tanner 1 week before the treatment (to avoid pigmentation disorders)
• You don't pluck or wax but shave your hair before and throughout the duration of the treatment
• Remember to shave the treated areas before each session (hair should ideally be from 1-2 mm).
